BJP Set to Regain in Madhya Pradesh; Chouhan, Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Leading: Early Trends – News18

Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, however, is trailing with a margin of 11,500 votes from Niwas Assembly, the seat bagged by Congress in 2018

The counting of votes in Madhya Pradesh is underway with the majority of Members of Parliament fielded by the BJP leading in the early trend.

The data updated around 11.30 am on the Election Commission of India shows that out of the seven BJP MPs in the fray in the state, six are leading in their respective seats.

BJP MP and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, contesting from Dimani, is leading with over 3,000 votes margin post the competition of third round of counting. He secured 11,937 votes as of now. BSP’s Balveer Singh Dandotia is at the second position with 8,852 votes while Congress leader Ravindra Singh Tomar Bhidosa is at the third position with 3,169 votes. In 2018, Congress won from Dimani. In the 2020 bye-polls, Bhidosa bagged the seat.

Another MP and Union minister Prahlad Singh Patel is fighting the elections from Narsinghpur, a seat won by the BJP in 2018. After the third round of counting, Patel is leading with over 6,500 votes as he secured 19,021 votes. Lakhan Singh Patel from Congress is at the second position with 12,500 votes.

Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste is trailing with a margin of 11,500 votes from Niwas Assembly, the seat bagged by the Congress in 2018. Chainsingh Warkade from Congress is leading with 37,918 votes while Kulaste secured 23,358 votes, after six rounds of counting.

After the second round of counting in Sidhi, BJP’s Riti Pathak was leading with a margin of 2,838 votes. She secured around 9,000 votes against Gyan Singh from Congress who bagged around 6,200 votes. The seat was bagged by the BJP in 2013 as well as 2018.

BJP’s Ganesh Singh, fighting in Satna, is leading with nearly 400 votes against Congress leader Dabbu Siddharth Sukhlal Kushwaha, who bagged the seat in 2018. While Kushwaha secured about 5,400 votes, Singh bagged 5,800 votes after two rounds of counting.

BJP MP Rakesh Singh, contesting from Jabalpur West, is leading with a margin of 14,695 votes as he bagged more than 35,000 votes after six rounds of counting. Tarun Bhanot, who won the polls in 2013 and 2018 from the seat, is at the second position as of 11.30 am. So far, he secured 20,534 votes.

BJP’s Uday Pratap Singh, contesting from Gadarwara, is leading with about 12,000 votes against sitting Congress MLA Sunita Patel who managed to get only 8,900 votes after the third round of counting. The BJP MP has secured nearly 21,000 votes.

As of 11.30 am, BJP is leading on 157 seats and Congress on 71. Out of the 230 seats, BSP is leading on one seat in the state.
