Cricket has witnessed some of the most mind-boggling catches in recent times but, insanity reached a new height during India’s U-19 Asia Cup fixture against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. The U-19 Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan witnessed one of the craziest dismissals in the history of the game. In the first innings of the match, India’s Adarsh Singh was dismissed for 62 runs in 80 balls in a surprising turn of events. On the second ball of the 32nd over, Adarsh tried to hit a delivery bowled by Arafat Minhas towards the mid-wicket region. Things did not turn out as planned as Adarsh produced an edge and the ball ended up getting stuck between the pads of Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper Saad Baig. It eventually forced the umpire to adjudge Adarsh out.
India’s U-19 stars were ready to prove their mettle against Pakistan in Dubai but their efforts proved to be inadequate ultimately. Batting first, India managed to post 259 runs losing nine wickets. Adarsh Singh, Uday Saharan and Sachin Das scored half-centuries each in the game to keep India alive in the game. Mohammad Zeeshan registered the best bowling figures for Pakistan as he scalped four wickets in 10 overs while giving away 46 runs. Pakistan skipper Saad Baig had a good performance as well, finishing the innings with three catches.
During the run chase, Pakistan’s Azan Awais smashed 105 runs in 130 balls to earn a perfect start for his side. Saad stepped up once again, this time on the batting front, and scored 68 runs off 51 balls to secure a resounding win for Pakistan.
