On Monday night at around 11 o’clock, the police team, alerted by an informer, started checking near Khaspur village under Kunwargaon police station area. During this, a criminal was seen coming on a bike. When the police stopped him, he turned his bike and started running. On being chased, he took the bike into the fields and started firing at the police from there. The accused fired five rounds. In this, a bullet grazed the arm of Head Constable Vinod. While the police also fired two rounds. In this, one bullet struck the criminal’s left leg. The police caught him near the cordon.

The rewardee turned out to be a rogue

The accused revealed his name as Takreem alias Badde son of Jahoor Hasan, resident of village Kadarbari, police station Kadar Chowk, Badaun. Police recovered a pistol and five shells from the accused. When the criminal record of the accused was searched, it was found that Gorakhpur police had announced a reward of five thousand rupees on him in a theft case. The bike recovered from the culprit did not have a number plate. Cases have been registered against him in other districts as well.

Two days ago, a car loaded with doda was found on the road where the police encounter took place. Two days ago, the police had recovered a car loaded with doda. During the arrest, the smugglers abandoned the car and fled. The doda was approximately 144 kg. SO Kunwargaon Raminder Singh said that the injured are currently being treated. After consulting the doctors, the accused will be presented in the court. A case of police encounter has been registered against him.
