Actress Meenakshi Sheshadri spoke about the film Damini: Everyone liked Sunny Deol but Rishi Kapoor’s character was more difficult.

Rishi Kapoor and Meenakshi Sheshadri were in lead roles in director Rajkumar Santoshi’s film ‘Damini’, released in 1983. However, Sunny Deol grabbed the entire spotlight of the film with his character.

Now after years, actress Meenakshi has discussed this. He said that even though Rishi did not get much limelight in the film, whatever work he did was amazing.

I feel that even though he did not get big dialogues in the film, the work he did was amazing. Hats off to him for the intensity with which he played his character. Only he could do this.

Even though the writer did not do justice to his character, he made this character memorable on his own.

Meenakshi, who gave many hit films in the 80s and 90s, disappeared from the industry after marriage in 1995. His last release was Sunny Deol starrer ‘Ghatak’.

Talking about this, Rishi Kapoor had also mentioned it in his memoir ‘Khullam Khulla’. He had written, ‘Even though I was the hero of this film and Sunny had a guest appearance in it, his character got a lot of applause in the end.
