For admission in 23 IITs of the country, IIT Delhi has released the result of JEE Advanced on Monday itself. According to the schedule released by IIT Delhi, after the result, the counseling process has started from October 6. Candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced 2020 must register with the Counseling Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The seats will be allotted on the basis of merit.
Counseling will be done in 6 rounds instead of 7
This year there will be six counseling rounds instead of seven. Students can do registration and choice filling at 5 pm on October 15. The seat allocation for the first round will be on October 17. Necessary documents will have to be uploaded and reported online after seat allocation. Check before the choice is locked, as changes will not be made later. Counseling will be held till 13 November
The counseling will take place in 6 phases till 13 November. Due to Kovid-19, the process of reporting and document verification will be completely online. If a deficiency is found in online reporting and document verification, students will be queried in this regard by JoSAA, with time to respond.
A total of 50798 seats will be admitted
All these IITs will have admission for a total of 16053 seats, out of which 1533 seats will be allotted from the super numerical quota to the female pool. Last year, a total of 13 thousand 585 seats were admitted. At the same time, NIT’s 851 female pool will enter 23506 seats including super numerical seats. Whereas 21 thousand 60 seats were given admission last year. That is, this year 2446 more seats will be admitted.
In addition, there will be entry to 5,643 seats of Triple IT and 5,596 seats of GFTI. This includes 239 seats of female pool super numerical in Triple IT. This year JoSAA Counseling will admit a total of 50798 seats in IIT, NIT, Triple IT and GFTI.
