Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 International cricket on Sunday.

Earlier on Saturday, two veteran players of the team, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, announced their retirement shortly after winning the World Cup final.

Team India won the T20 World Cup after 17 years by defeating South Africa in the final in Barbados on June 29.

Jadeja gave information on Instagram post
Jadeja wrote, With a heartfelt gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 International matches. I have always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats as well. Winning the T20 World Cup was like a dream come true. Thank you for your unwavering faith. Jai Hind.

Modi said- Your performance as an all-rounder in T-20 was excellent
Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on social media on Jadeja’s announcement of retirement from T20 International and wished him all the best for the future. PM wrote- You have performed very well as an all-rounder. Your fans always praise your stylish shots, spin bowling and excellent fielding. Thank you for your excellent performance in T20 for the last several years.

Jadeja made his international cricket debut in 2009
Ravindra Jadeja made his debut for India in 2009. He played a total of 74 matches in the T20 format. He scored 515 runs at a strike rate of 127.16 and took 54 wickets.

Apart from this, the left-arm bowler was a part of the Indian T20 team from 2009 to 2024. During this time, he played a total of 30 matches. In these, Jadeja scored 130 runs and took 22 wickets. At the same time, he played 6 matches in the Asia Cup. In these, he scored 35 runs in two innings.

Jadeja could not do anything special in the World Cup
Jadeja scored only 36 runs in five innings of 8 matches in this entire tournament. During this, his scores were 2, 17, 9, 7, 10. Not only this, he also took only 1 wicket in bowling.

Rohit and Virat retire from T20 after winning the World Cup

After 16 years, 9 months and 5 days, India ended its wait to win the T20 World Cup. This was made possible by captain Rohit Sharma’s attacking fifty against Australia-England and Virat Kohli’s Player of the Final performance.
