Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third time at Rashtrapati Bhavan along with 71 Ministers as part of the Union Cabinet in New Delhi on Sunday

Seven former chief ministers have been sworn-in in the new Union Council of Ministers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who served as the former chief minister of Gujarat.

The other six former CMs are Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Rajnath Singh, Manohar Lal Khattar, Sarbananda Sonowal, HD Kumaraswamy and Jitan Ram Manjhi.

  • Manohar Lal Khattar (former CM of Haryana, BJP MP from Karnal): Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs; Minister of Power
  • HD Kumaraswamy (former Karnataka CM, (JD(S) MP from Mandya): Minister of Heavy Industries; Minister of Steel
  • Jitan Ram Manjhi (former Bihar CM, HAM MP from Gaya (SC)): Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
  • Sarbananda Sonowal (former Assam CM, BJP MP from Dibrugarh): Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways
  • Rajnath Singh (former Uttar Pradesh CM, BJP MP from Lucknow): Minister of Defence
