There were 50 people on the Alaknanda cruise, which were immediately despatched to the safe Assi Ghat on request. After this the cruise left for Sant Ravidas Ghat. Vikas Malviya, Operations of Alaknanda Cruise Line, said that the engine was overheating due to some fault in the cooling system. So the engine was stopped and fixed on the side of Assi Ghat. Then as soon as the engine stopped, a gust of wind swayed the cruise towards the pier and collided with the boats parked on the shore. Vikas Malviya said that the problem has been rectified. Alaknanda cruise will operate daily as before.

Deepak said that we have stopped the boat due to strong wind, so why was the operation of this Alaknanda cruise not stopped. Said that if the boat capsized due to strong wind, there could have been a big accident.
