Alia Bhatt had adorned this timeless fuschia pink lehenga set for her mehendi ceremony in 2022.
Designed by couturier Manish Malhotra, the lehenga took 3000 hours of intricate handwork and 180 textile patches to handcraft.
Celebrating sustainability this festive season, Alia Bhatt wore the timeless fuschia pink lehenga she adorned at her mehendi ceremony at Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party in Mumbai on October 22,2024.
Designed by the visionary couturier Manish Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and her vibrant ensemble made a colourful statement at the star-studded party. Alia who got married to Ranbir Kapoor in an intimate wedding ceremony in April 2022, celebrated Manish’s craftsmanship at her mehendi ceremony with his personalised lehenga set. Inscribed through Kashmiri and Chikankari threads, the passionate 3000-hour intricate handwork of the Mijwan women celebrated Alia’s personality with elan.
At the Diwali party, Alia was joined by her sister, Shaheen Bhatt who looked pretty in a Manish Malhotra embroidered pastel ensemble. As Alia Bhatt walked towards the festive backdrop outside Manish’s residence, her lehenga took us back down memory lane when Manish shared a series of images from Alia’s mehendi ceremony celebrating the work that went into creating this masterpiece.
Alia, the beautiful Manish Malhotra Bride’s mehendi ensemble was created with a sustainable approach, so we are not surprised that the Jigra-star chose Manish’s Diwali party to celebrate his craft and the festive season under one roof.
Approximately 180 textile patches came together to mark her momentous occasion. Alia paired the lehenga with the blouse embellished in real gold and silver nakshi and kora flowers, and vintage gold metal sequins from Kutch, Gujarat.
Alia completed the desi-bohemian chic look with a pair of contemporary chandbali earrings and kadas. Styled by celebrity stylish Ami Patel, Alia Diwali glam chic bun was styled by Amit Thakur and her fresh, minimal makeup was done by Puneet Saini. Alia definitely looked festive ready and her style played the perfect canvas for the Diwali fashion moodboard.
Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party was attended by the who’s who of the film industry looking ethereal in the couturiers creations. We spotted celebrities Ananya Panday, Kajol, Rekha, Punit Malhotra, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Kusha Kapila, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shriya Saran, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shamita Shetty, Abhay Deol, Angad Bedi, Urmila Matondkar, Sanya Malhotra, Kanika Kapoor, Orry, among others looked stylish in their respective ensembles.
