Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has announced his retirement from all types of cricket. Yusuf was part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011. Yusuf has also been a member of the 3rd IPL Champion Team. In his presence, Rajasthan Royals won IPL titles in 2008 and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014. His brother Irfan Pathan has also been a former all-rounder.

Off-spin all-rounder Yusuf announced his retirement by releasing a statement. In it, he wrote, ‘I heartily thank my family, friends, fans, team, coach and the whole country. They gave me a lot of love and support. Yusuf has played 57 ODIs and 22 T20s for India.

World Cup final was made debut

Yusuf made his international career debut with the 2007 T20 World Cup final. In this match, he was included in the playing-11 in place of the injured Virender Sehwag. Yusuf scored a six off Mohammad Asif in the very first over of the match. Yusuf scored 15 runs off 8 balls in this match. Team India won the title by defeating Pakistan by 5 runs.

3 teams are participating in IPL
Yusuf has also been a successful IPL player. They played for 3 teams Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored 3204 runs as well as taking 42 wickets.
