Courts across the country are extremely angry with governments over the lack of oxygen amid the Corona epidemic. In this connection, Allahabad High Court made tough remarks on Tuesday. The High Court said that the death of Corona patients due to lack of oxygen supply in hospitals is a crime, it is not less than a massacre.
DM, Lucknow, Meerut orders inquiry in 48 hours
A bench of Justices Siddharth Verma and Justice Ajit Kumar was hearing a petition filed in the state on the rising cases of corona and the status of quarantine centers. Meanwhile, in Lucknow and Meerut, the court commented on the news reports on social media regarding deaths due to lack of oxygen. In addition, DMs of both the districts have been asked to investigate such news reports in 48 hours and present the report on the next hearing online.
The court said, ‘We are sad to see the corona patients dying. This is nothing short of a massacre by those who have the responsibility of arranging oxygen. How can we allow our people to die in this way, while science is so advanced that today heart transplantation and brain surgery are also being done. ‘
The High Court said that usually we do not ask the state government and district administration to investigate viral news on social media, but the lawyers associated with this case are also referring to such reports. They even have the same situation in the rest of the districts of the state. Therefore, we felt it necessary to order the (court) government to take immediate steps.
Delhi High Court reprimanded the center
The High Court on Tuesday lashed out at the Central Government over the oxygen crisis in Delhi. The High Court told the Center that you can sit like an ostrich by putting your head in the sand and not we. After this, issued a notice to the Central Government asking why not contempt of court should be tried against you for not following the order to supply oxygen to Delhi.
