The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is working on the expansion of the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). If the teams grow then one thing is certain that Ahmedabad can be the next team. Apart from this, if more than one team grows, then teams from Kanpur / Lucknow or Pune can also join.
South veteran actor Mohanlal also showed interest
The BCCI may decide on the extension of IPL at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held in December. According to reports, the Adani Group owned by Gautam Adani and the RPSG Group of Sanjeev Goenka are in the race to buy the teams. Adani Group may take Ahmedabad franchise. Apart from these two, Mohanlal, the top actor of South India, has also shown interest in taking a franchise with the big business group of South.
Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be held in first January of Ranji
The BCCI is preparing to host the T20 Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January. Combat can be done in Kolkata. Apart from the three grounds there are good facilities of the hotel for the stay of the teams. The board can arrange training for everyone by creating bio bubble here. No decision has been made yet on Ranji.
BCCI gave Rs 100 crore to Emirates Board
The BCCI has paid Rs 100 crore to the UAE Board to host the IPL. According to the new rule, the state association will now get 1 crore rupees for an IPL match. The BCCI recently increased the hosting fees for the franchise. The hosting fees for each match increased from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.
