Volker Harman, High Performance Director of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has resigned. He confirmed this on social media. He wrote that he cannot fulfill the expectations that come with the post of High Performance Director. He wrote that he had resigned 3 weeks earlier.
AFI has not announced any official yet
However, AFI has not made any official announcement on this yet. Harman wrote on his Facebook page, ‘After spending a year and a half in India, the day has come when I am resigning from AFI. I feel that I am not right for this role and am not able to meet the challenges that come with the post. That is why I have resigned. ‘

Harman said that the future of athletics in India is bright. He said, ‘A favorable and sustainable infrastructure is needed to support India’s talented athletes and coaches. Also, to be successful on the world stage, players with a strong, confident and independent mindset are also needed.
