Attack on France’s railway network before Olympics: People set fire on railway lines, 8 lakh people stranded at stations

There has been an attack on the railway network in France about 10 hours before the Paris Olympics.

The train network in France has been attacked a few hours before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. There have been reports of arson on several railway lines. According to a BBC report, several trains to and from Paris have been cancelled. Many trains are running late by up to 90 minutes.

Eurostar company said that they have cancelled many trains. The attack has affected the railway service from London to Paris. In view of the attack, these trains have been diverted. France’s government railway company SNCF has issued a warning for all passengers. They have been advised not to go to the station.

SNCF said that about 8 lakh passengers have been affected due to the attack. They have deployed hundreds of their workers to restore the train system. French Transport Minister Patrice Vergarite has condemned the attack through a post on social media. She said that she is in constant touch with SNCF.
