A woman died after being shot in suspicious circumstances in Mohalla Tilaknagar of Auraiya city in Uttar Pradesh late on Sunday night. However, the police is investigating this as a suicide. The police, who reached the spot, have sent the body’s panchnama for post-mortem. The woman’s family members have filed a dowry murder case against her three in-laws, including her husband.
Case of 11:30 pm
The whole matter is from Tilak Nagar in Sadar Kotwali area. According to police, the body of Jyoti Singh, wife of Prabhat Singh, son of Honda agency owner Sudhir Kushwaha, was found inside the house at 11:30 pm on Sunday night. There was also a license revolver nearby. Jyoti was married to Prabhat in 2017. According to family members, they reached the spot after hearing the sound of the bullet. By then Jyoti was dead. After this information was given to the police.
As soon as the information was received, the forensic team along with the police reached the spot and collected samples from the scene. The case of the woman’s death has been implicated in murder or suicide. When Jyoti’s parents came to know about the incident, they also reached. The maids have filed a dowry murder case in Sadar Kotwali against husband Prabhat Singh Gopak and father-in-law Sudhir Kushwaha and mother-in-law Kavita, accusing them of harassing and killing their daughter for dowry.
Awaiting post mortem report
Superintendent of Police Aparna Gautam said that the post mortem report would confirm the cause of death. The investigation is currently underway. A case has been registered against three accused. They are under questioning.
