Australia will be playing their final league match of the 2023 World Cup against Bangladesh on Saturday. After a scratchy start to their campaign in India, Australia have made a solid recovery by winning six matches on the trot.
In those games, they were able to dismiss teams including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and England. Their last victory came against Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Afghanistan had posted a competitive total of 291 runs in the match and then picked up early wickets to curb Australia at 91 runs while having lost seven wickets.
Glenn Maxwell produced one of the best individual performances in ODI cricket on the fateful night, single-handedly carrying his team to a memorable win.
Maxwell smashed a double century to secure a three-wicket win for the Aussies.
Australia and Bangladesh will take each other on at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on November 11. Bangladesh were the first team to be eliminated from the competition. Their only two victories came in their opener against Afghanistan and in their last game against Sri Lanka which they won by three wickets.
