The dates of the Australian Open (AO), the tennis tournament to be held in January next year, can be announced soon. Amid reports of a delay in the tournament’s holding due to Corona, AO chief executive Craig Tille said on Sunday that the dates for the next year’s tennis tournament in Melbourne would be announced within 2 weeks. He said that Tennis Australia (TA) is making every effort to organize the tournament on time.
Focus on having a safe tournament between Corona
He said that we are in constant touch with the Victorian government about having a safe tournament. We aim to cater to every need of players, fans, staff and our partners among Corona.
Ticket sales and crowd size also announced soon
He said that we are adopting all possible ways to prevent corona. We will also announce ticket sales and number of fans at the stadium soon. All these information will be revealed within the next 2 weeks.
The news came to promote the tournament
A report published in the Australian newspaper claimed that due to the Kovid-19 protocol in the country, tennis tournaments could be held in February or March instead of January. However Tennis Australia (TA) described it as purely speculative.
The tournament is to be held from January 18
The Australian Open is scheduled to be played from 18 January to 31 January next year. Apart from Tennis Australia, administration and politicians are also putting full force to organize the Australian Open between Corona. A few days ago MP Andrews said that the TA hopes to soon allow Victorian and Australian Governments to train players in Quarantine in mid-December.
3 tennis courts ready to host Australian Open
3 courts are being prepared in Melbourne Park for the Australian Open. In which Road Laver Arena is the largest. It has a seating capacity of 15,000 people. At the same time, Melbourne Arena has a seating capacity of 9,646 people. Whereas, Margaret Court Arena has a seating capacity of 7,500 people.
