Proposed model of Ram temple.

  • The soil sample was taken from a depth of 200 feet to strengthen the foundation
  • A committee of technical experts has been formed to start the construction of 1200 pillars

The construction of the temple at the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya continues. However, sand has not been found on the foundation surface of the temple 200 feet below, instead of yellow soil. This has been revealed in soil investigation. Due to non-availability of the surface of the foundation, the pillar was weighed down two to five inches during the piling test. Now questions are being raised about the strength of the temple due to sand.

The 8 top engineers and construction experts formed under the chairmanship of former IIT Delhi director VS Raju are keeping an eye on the work related to the foundation of the temple. Member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, Dr. Anil Mishra said that on the basis of brainstorming on the report of the Committee of Engineers, the foundation of the temple construction will be started afresh. Anil Mishra said that the report of the expert will not be made public. This report will be between the temple construction committee and the trust.

If there is no change in the design, foundation construction will start after 20 days

The temple’s chief architect Nikhil Sompura is also ready to build the foundation. He said that after receiving the report, if the L&T did not make any change in the design of the foundation of the temple, the construction of the pillars would start within 20 days. If the design of the foundation was changed, then we will have to change the architecture design of the temple accordingly. In such a situation, it may take a month to start the construction of the pillars of the temple.

Ongoing research on load testing

His younger brother Ashish Sompura also attended the temple construction committee meeting held in Ayodhya a week ago as a representative of Nikhil Sompura’s company. Even then the issue was raised about the sand layer found 200 feet below the temple site. Sompura said that his company has built around 100 temples. In which his company has done the work from the foundation to the shrine of the temple. The pillars of the foundation of all the temples are made of stones. But the foundation of the Ram temple has been found in the sand rather than the yellow soil, on the test piling, a lot of research is being done on load testing.
