Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan, who has been jailed for the past one year, is not taking the name of the problems being reduced. The Uttar Pradesh government has banned the democracy fighter pension received by Azam Khan. This decision has been taken in view of the criminal cases registered against them. In 2005, the then Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav started giving democracy fighter pension to the jail goers during Emergency (Emergency). Initially the pension amount was Rs 500 per month, which has now increased to Rs 20 thousand.

About 85 cases filed against Azam
Azam Khan was associated with the Aligarh Muslim University Students’ Union during the Emergency and was also sent to jail. At present, there are about 85 cases against them, which are pending in courts. Only 26 cases have been registered against him for possession of land in the name of Johar University. He is currently lodged in Sitapur Jail.
