Babri Masjid Demolition Case Verdict Date September 30; Here’s Latest Updates From Supreme Court | After 27 years, the verdict will come on September 30, 32 accused including Advani, Uma, Kalyan will have to be present in the court.

The decision of the Lucknow special court in the case of the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya will come on 30 September. The Babri Masjid was demolished by ‘karsevaks’ on 6 December 1992 in Ayodhya 27 years ago. Special Judge SK Yadav has completed the hearing in the case under the direction of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had earlier given time till 31 August. But after a review of the trial, the Supreme Court gave time to give its verdict till September 30. Many big leaders including LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti are accused in this case. All have to be present in the court at the time of verdict.

The statements of a total of 32 accused were recorded

In this case, 49 people were accused. Among them, 17 accused including Bala Saheb Thackeray, Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Vishnuhari Dalmia have died. In this case, statements of 32 accused including Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Vinay Katiyar, Uma Bharti were recorded. The accused include Vinay Katiyar, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Ram Vilas Vedanti, Sakshi Maharaj, VHP leader Champat Rai, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and others. All were given time by the court to register their objection. On September 2, after completing all the legal proceedings, Special Judge SK Yadav took the time to write the verdict. On Wednesday, SK Yadav announced the decision on September 30.

Advani and Joshi had declared themselves innocent

On 24 July (Friday), LK Advani had recorded the statement in front of the special judge through video conferencing. Advani dismissed all the allegations. He held the then central government responsible for the charges against him. He had said that the allegations against him were motivated by politics. The hearing lasted 4.5 hours. During the hearing, the court had asked Advani more than 100 questions.

The case was filed in 1992

On December 6, 1992, an FIR was lodged at the police station Ram Janmabhoomi in connection with the demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya. The CBI had filed a chargesheet against 49 accused in a special court. 17 accused have died in these.
