Bajrang Punia has won his third medal in the Commonwealth Games. Bajrang won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. He won gold in 65 kg weight at Gold Coast in 2018 before Birmingham. He won the silver medal in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Bajrang started showing strength in the arena at the age of 7 to fulfill his father’s dreams.

Bajrang was born in Khudan village of Jhajjar district of Haryana. His father was also a wrestler, but could not reach the international level, but the father, who dreamed of sending his son to the Olympics, started sending Bajrang to the arena at the age of 7 to learn wrestling tricks. Later, Bajrang started training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) regional center in Sonepat. His family also shifted to Sonipat.

Won first medal in world championship in 2013
Bajrang won his first World Championship medal at the senior level in the 60 kg weight category in 2013. He won the bronze medal in this tournament held in Hungary. In 2018, he won silver at the World Wrestling Championship held in Budapest. In 2019 too, Bajrang won the silver medal in the World Championship held in Noor Sultan.

Have also won two medals in Asian Games
Bajrang has won medal twice in Asian Games. He won gold in Jakarta in 2018 in 65 kg and silver in 2014 in Incheon in 61 kg.
