Dr. Jitendra Pal, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh died late on Sunday night at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGI) in Lucknow. Doctor Jitendra Pal was corona positive on 27 December. He was admitted to SGPGI on 29 December with difficulty in breathing. In Uttar Pradesh, 17 corona patients have died in the last 24 hours.

After being corona positive, Chief Medical Officer Dr Jitendra Pal was undergoing treatment in Ballia. But on December 29, the oxygen level suddenly started falling. He was then referred to PGI Lucknow. But suddenly his health worsened on Sunday night. He died after some time. Dr. Pal was a resident of Santakbir Nagar. He took charge of Ballia during the Corona period itself.

769 new cases of corona in U.P.
There have been 769 new cases of corona infection in the state in the last 24 hours. While 17 patients have died. In Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Bijnore, 2-1 patients died in Meerut, Varanasi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Azamgarh, Rae Bareli, Ghazipur, Sitapur, Farukhabad, Siddharthanagar and Mahoba.

Most cases found in Lucknow

In the last 24 hours, the maximum 13 patients came to Lucknow. At the same time, 43 new people have been admitted in Prayagraj, 65 in Varanasi, 22 in Meerut, 45 in Muzaffarnagar and 25 in Gautam Budh Nagar. Out of 12,858 active cases in the state, 5269 people are in home isolation. 1,321 people are undergoing treatment in private hospitals.
