Ballia’s Revati police arrested two liquor smugglers with 103 boxes of illegal English liquor in a pickup vehicle. The value of the recovered liquor has been estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh.

The team of police station incharge Revati Rohan Rakesh Singh and sub-inspector Ashutosh Maddesiya were checking the vehicle. Meanwhile, a four-wheeler with bright lights was seen coming from Srinagar market. When an attempt was made to stop it with torch light, the driver, seeing the police team, stopped the vehicle at some distance from the police team and tried to run away by getting down from the vehicle. Whom the police team ran and caught.
During interrogation, the arrested accused revealed their names as Markandeya Yadav, son of Raghuveer Yadav and Bharat Yadav, son of Zamindar Yadav, resident of Srinagar police station Revati. The police took both of them into custody. When the pickup vehicle was searched by the police, 103 boxes of English illicit liquor were recovered from it. Police seized the recovered pickup.
Additional Superintendent of Police Dakshina Kripa Shankar said that the estimated value of the recovered illegal liquor is Rs 6 lakh. Also, two liquor smugglers have been arrested and sent to jail.
