There is a different atmosphere of happiness in Kaimla village of Karnal in Haryana these days. Balraj Panwar, who is the pride of the village, will play the quarter final match of Rowing M-1X Olympics today. To wish for his victory, a havan was organized before his match in the Siddh Langde Baba temple of the village today.

Happiness in the village and family Wave
There is a festive atmosphere all around in Kaimla village. People are praying for Balraj’s victory. There is a long queue of people congratulating his family. Balraj’s mother, Kamala Devi, is remembering her late husband in this happy moment. She says, if his father were alive today, he would have danced with joy.

Olympics started from South Korea Journey
Balraj Panwar, who is 25 years old, joined the Indian Army in the year 2018. He was trained in Roorkee and then posted in Pune. This is where his sailing career started. In April 2024, Balraj performed brilliantly in the qualifying round held in South Korea and qualified for the Olympics.

Kamala Devi says that Balraj’s body has become weak due to the tough training and hard work of rowing. “Whenever he comes home or talks on video call, it seems that the son has become very weak. But we are hopeful that he will bring glory to the country by winning gold in the Olympics.

The struggle after the death of his father
Balraj’s father, Randhir Singh, died about 13 years ago. He used to do farming by taking land on contract. After his death, Kamla Devi raised her children by working as a labourer. The financial condition of the family improved after Balraj joined the army in 2018.

To become a Subedar after winning the Olympics Hope
Balraj’s sister Manisha says that Balraj will be promoted to the rank of Subedar if he wins the Olympics. “We are confident that my brother will win the Olympics and bring glory to the country.” Proud of Balraj’s achievements, the villagers and family are hopeful that he will bring pride to Kaimla village and the entire country by winning gold in the Olympics.

Balraj has won many gold medals in Asian Games, National Games and various championships and now all eyes are on the Olympics. Everyone is expecting a great performance from Balraj Panwar in the Olympics and the whole village is ready to witness this historic moment.
