Terminal-2, dubbed as the ‘Terminal in a Garden,’ is a heartfelt tribute to Bengaluru’s lush, green character, often celebrated as the ‘Garden City.’ This awe-inspiring project, which embarked on its journey in October 2018, is a two-phase marvel. Phase 1, sprawling across a vast 255,645 square meters, is all set to cater to a whopping 25 million passengers every year. As for Phase 2, it’s still in the planning stages, poised to expand the capacity by an additional 20 million passengers annually.
Upon the successful completion of both phases, Terminal-2 will serve an astonishing 70 million passengers each year, a testament to Bengaluru’s rising prominence as a major aviation hub in the region. Notably, Terminal-2 won’t only be reserved for international flights; it will also welcome domestic travelers flying with AirAsia, Air India, Star Air, and Vistara.
While Terminal-2 was initially set to launch its international operations on August 31, it hit a slight delay, with the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) announcing the postponement just a day before its eagerly anticipated debut. But the wait is finally over, and this state-of-the-art terminal promises a world-class experience for travelers, combining aesthetic beauty with cutting-edge functionality.
