India’s busy schedule in the international cricket calendar has created many possibilities for the players. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has also said that Team India has to play many series in the coming months, which will give opportunities to new players. But what Shah did not say was that from where the players would come for two teams at the same time.

He did not say anything about the India A program though it has been a part of many players in the Test team over the years. The India A program in 2014-15 was exclusively piloted by Rahul Dravid. But the sad thing is that after February 2021, the India A program has been put on hold. There was going to be a match between India and India A in England. The India A team was to tour there, but due to Kovid, that tour had to be canceled.

India A domestic season is not happening since 2003-04
India A is not playing the domestic season since 2003-04. India A gave a series. Played against Africa, when the Indian team won the D. had visited Africa. That India A team played three unofficial Tests, which helped players like Hanuma Vihari. Even the speed king Umran did the. He made his first-class debut on the India A tour in the 2021-22 season in Africa.

India’s series win in Australia was credited to the India A programme, which helped Dravid identify players who could make it to the Indian team in different formats. Shubman, Prithvi, Siraj, Mayank, Vihari all came from India A in red ball cricket. India A was a good pull to make it into India’s Test team. The theory of Siraj making a place in the Indian team through IPL is wrong. Siraj took several wickets in red ball cricket for Hyderabad and India A, after which he got a chance in the Test team.

Youth like Sarfaraz, Saurabh will have to wait a long time
India has to play several bilateral series before the T20 World Cup, due to which many players will have a chance to debut for India. That is, India is the new India A for the upcoming players. But that’s fine for white ball experts. What are the opportunities for Red Ball players? They will have to wait as India have very few Tests to play until early 2023. This means that apart from Sarfaraz, Saurabh Kumar, Yash Dayal, Test specialists like Pujara, Vihari, Rahane, Umesh Yadav, Ashwin and Shami will have to wait. Or opportunities have to be created.

The Test specialist will have to expect a domestic season like the Duleep Trophy or the Ranji Trophy. It is a great honor to play for India. Should there be a bilateral T20 series to benefit the other country’s board? What’s the point of such competitions if India’s key players don’t play in these series?

England had brought 2 team planning
One team from England is playing ODI against Netherlands while the other team is taking on New Zealand in Test. Australia did the same last year, when their Test team did the same. Had toured Africa and the T20 team went to New Zealand. India did the same on the Sri Lanka tour last year.

What is the role of NCA chief VVS Laxman when he is accompanying the team as coach on tours where Dravid did not go. England planned and then implemented the two-team and two-coach tradition. In India, it will be implemented by default in the next 12 months without any planning.
