Himanshu Sharma, the writer of the films ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ (2011) and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ (2015), wants to take this franchise forward. If Himanshu is to be believed, Kangana Ranaut and R. The sequel of Madhavan starrer this film was made without any pre-planning. During a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Himanshu told that its third version will also be similar.

‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is not possible without Kangana
Tanu Weds Manu was a planned movie which became a hit among the audience. At that time we did not think at all that we would make a sequel of this film. Even after the film became a hit, we did not think of a sequel. However, when a few years passed and a story came to my mind, I wrote it for the sequel of the film, whichever audience liked it. Still, if any such story touches my heart, then I will definitely work on the third version of Tanu Weds Manu.

Without Kangana, this film cannot be made, I will write the next story keeping her in mind. Of course, keeping in mind the expectations of the audience, we need a capable love story. We cannot ignore this.

Miyan-Biwi wrote script for brother-sister
Himanshu and his wife Kanika Dhillon have co-written the story of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Rakshabandhan’. Regarding this, he says, “I and Kanika Dhillon have written the story of this film together for the first time. Akshay sir sometimes used to say in fun that Tum Miyan-Biwi has written a very good brother-sister script. The film is the story of the setup of Old Delhi in which apart from Akshay and Bhumi, we have also cast 4 new girls. Through film Ek, we will try to show the audience the beautiful emotional journey of a brother and sister.”

Proud to have written ‘Atrangi Re’ very sincerely
As a writer, Himanshu’s recently released Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush starrer ‘Atrangi Re’ has received mixed reviews. According to Himanshu Sharma, he gave his best. According to him, just as the audience wants to see new subjects or new content, in the same way as a writer, he is also looking for a new audience.

Says about this, “I wrote the story of this film very honestly and I am also proud of it. The subject that we have chosen has not been touched by any other filmmaker till date. Now the film from the opinion of some 50-60 critics. It doesn’t decide the result. A film is not a documentary. Just like people expect us to entertain them with new content, we also expect our audience to be new, with a new mindset. Glad that this film of ours makes us happy. Got to see this.”
