Additional Knowledge- Under this Act, action is taken in cases of sexual harassment, sexual assault and pornography with minor children. This Act was enacted in the year 2012, so that the trial of sexual offenses with children can be made easier and the culprits can be punished soon. This law provides protection to boys and girls alike.

Cases under this law are heard in a special court. In this act, those below 18 years of age are placed in the category of children. Prior to 2012, there were no specific rules and regulations regarding sexual offenses against children.

Additional Knowledge- The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is a civilian security police force, formed under the Disaster Management Act 2005. It is characterized by eliminating the troubles occurring during the time of emergency or disaster. This force is trained to deal with every kind of situation. It helps people in natural calamities like floods, storms, earthquakes etc.

In 2006, the NDRF was formed with eight battalions. It is a paramilitary lines force, consisting of 12 battalions. It consists of a battalion of three BSFs, two CRPFs, two CIPFs, two ITBPs and two SSBs.

Additional Knowledge- The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) was established on 5 March 2007. It was established under the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act 2005 to monitor the rights given to children such as equality, free and compulsory education to children from 6 to 14 years of age, prohibition on child labor etc.

The purpose of the Commission is to ensure that all laws, policies, programs and administrative mechanisms are in line with child rights, as laid down in the Constitution of India as well as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Convention). Under this, the rights of children below 18 years are protected.

Additional Knowledge- The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is an international organization dedicated to the conservation of natural resources. Its purpose is to help find practical solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental and development challenges. It releases a “Red List” based on information from various conservation organizations, which shows the most threatened species in the world.

The IUCN list estimates 1,05,732 species, of which 28,338 species are at risk of extinction. Of the total evaluations, 873 are already extinct.

In the same way, there are many more.Additional Knowledge- Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a disease in which the body does not have protein-producing genes. This causes the muscles and nerves to end. The activity of the brain muscles also starts decreasing. Since all the muscles operate from the brain, there is difficulty in breathing and even chewing food. There are many types of SMA, but Type 1 is the most serious.
