In the Indian Premier League (IPL), every team has an opener batsman. Opening batting is the foundation of giving a team target or chasing the target. So which opener will give his team a good start this season? For this, Bhaskar conducted a survey on social media platforms.

In this, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma got the highest 38.8% votes. Punjab Kings captain Lokesh Rahul was at number two. He received 30.8% of the votes. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was third with 18.9% votes and Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner was fourth with 11.4% votes.

Kohli has the most runs in the league
Kohli is on top in terms of scoring the most runs in IPL history. Kohli has scored 5911 runs in 193 matches. It is followed by Suresh Raina (5422), Rohit Sharma (5292), Shikhar Dhawan (5282) and David Warner (5257).

Rahul got the Orange Cap last season
The Punjab team may not have made it to the play-offs last season, but Rahul’s performance was superb. Rahul had scored the highest 670 runs in the season. Apart from Rahul, Warner had scored more than 500 runs. Kohli also scored over 450 runs last season.

First century of IPL 2021 named to Samson
Earlier on Monday, Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 runs. In this match, Sanju Samson of Rajasthan scored a century in his first match as captain. He became the first player of the IPL to do so. It was Samson’s third century in the IPL. He also equaled AB de Villiers in terms of century.
