T-series founder Gulshan Kumar has a birth anniversary on 5 May. Gulshan Kumar was born in 1956 in Delhi to a Punjabi family. Gulshan earned a bachelor’s degree from Deshbandhu College, Delhi. His father Chandrabhan had a juice shop in Delhi’s Daryaganj area, where Gulshan worked with him.
Gulshan was bored while working in a juice shop. So one day his father took a shop and recorded cheap cassettes and songs which were sold and sold. Just here, Gulshan Kumar’s career changed. Gulshan formed the company Super Cassettes Industries Limited which became the largest music company in India. He founded the T-series under this music company. Gulshan opened a production company in Noida. Gradually they started to become popular due to devotional songs and bhajan songs. Gulshan thought of shifting to Mumbai as his business grew.
Changed luck in mumbai
Gulshan’s fortunes changed after coming to Mumbai. He has produced more than 15 films, including a film ‘Bewafa Sanam’. His first produced film was 1989’s ‘Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka’. But he got his real recognition from the 1990 film Aashiqui.
Underworld was asking for money
On August 12, 1997, Gulshan was shot dead outside Jiteshwar Mahadev temple in South Andheri area of Mumbai. Abu Salem had asked singer Gulshan Kumar to give Rs 5 lakh every month. Gulshan Kumar refused, saying that by paying so much money, he would make a bhandara in Vaishno Devi. Angered by this, Salem had shot Gulshan Kumar’s day in broad daylight through shooter Raja.
Gulshan Kumar’s son is handling work
When Gulshan was killed, he had already become the international brand of music in the world. The T-series was also named among the top music companies. According to the reports, the T-series business is spread across 24 countries as well as 6 continents. At present, the T-series company is managed by Bhushan Kumar, son of Gulshan Kumar. Many superhit films have been produced under the company. The company has produced ‘Ready’ (2011), ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013), ‘Hate Story 4’ (2014), ‘Baby’ (2015), ‘Bhaag Johnny’ (2015), ‘Airlift’ (2016), ‘Badshaho’ Has produced other films including ‘(2017).
