The matter of building roads using substandard material in Shahjahanpur is now gaining momentum. The BJP MLA had exposed the flaws and demanded an inquiry and action. After the news was published in Dainik Bhaskar, Rajya Sabha MP Mithilesh Kumar also ordered an inquiry and demanded action against the contractor and the superintendent.

He said that he is currently in Mau in connection with the elections. As soon as he comes to Shahjahanpur, he will personally inspect this road. He said that quality is compromised due to the collusion of departmental officers and contractors.
In fact, BJP MLA Chetram from Puwaiyan assembly constituency had inspected the 17 km long road being built from Bilsari Khurd to Kaptan village at a cost of Rs 37 crore. Many flaws were found in the road construction. The MLA had severely reprimanded the contractor and JE by accusing them of compromising with quality. Many videos of the MLA’s inspection had surfaced. In which he had even threatened to send the contractor and JE to jail for compromising with quality.
Rajya Sabha MP Mithilesh Kumar took cognizance
Dainik Bhaskar had prominently covered this issue. After the news was aired, Rajya Sabha MP Mithilesh Kumar took cognizance of the news. Talking to Dainik Bhaskar over the phone, he said that he had got this road approved from PWD Minister Jitin Prasad. He is currently in Mau in connection with the elections. As soon as he comes to Shahjahanpur, he will go to inspect this road.
Demand for action against contractor and departmental officials
He said that quality is compromised due to collusion between the contractor and departmental officers. This will not be tolerated at all. He has talked about getting this matter investigated. He said that he will demand action against the road construction contractor, executive engineer and his team by getting an investigation done.
Let us tell you that on Monday, BJP MLA Chetram from Puwaiyan assembly inspected the road. During this, he found that the road construction material was being used in substandard manner. Then the MLA threatened to send the contractor and JE to jail. He said that he will not let the public money go waste. Along with this, he also threatened to file an FIR.
