A woman has filed a rape case against Pratap Lal Gameti (52), MLA from Gogunda seat in Udaipur. The woman, who hails from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, alleged that the MLA sexually abused her by pretending to be married. The woman made a written complaint to IG Satyavir Singh of Udaipur. After this, an FIR was registered at Sukher police station. At the same time, due to the case of rape against the MLA, now investigation of this case has been handed over to CBCID.
The woman is a BJP leader and has been a former councilor. The woman said in the complaint that in 2018 she met MLA Gameti at a function in Neemuch. Meanwhile, there was a conversation between the two. In a few days, the conversation turned into friendship. During this time, when the woman told that she is divorced, the MLA also said that he too is not made of his wife. We both live separately.
The MLA then promised to marry the woman. However, even after a long time, the MLA kept avoiding marriage again and again. After this, in November 2020, the legislator called the woman to Udaipur. Rape was taken to a flat near the Celebration Mall there. After this, when the woman talked about marrying Gameti, Gameti again postponed and sent the woman to Neemuch again.
MLA’s mobile switched off
Udaipur SP Rajiv Pachar said that the woman had given a complaint on Thursday. Based on that, a case was registered. The woman is married and lives in Neemuch. The investigation has been handed over to CBCID as there are cases against the MLA. At the same time, the MLA Pratap Lal’s mobile phone is switched off after this incident. His close relatives said that the MLAs have gone to Jaipur in connection with the preparations for the assembly proceedings.

MLA Pratap Lal Gogunda has won the election for the second time on a BJP ticket from the assembly. Pratap Lal defeated Congress strongman Mangilal Garasia both times in the elections. Prior to this, Pratap Lal has also been a sarpanch twice in his native village Dadia. Pratap Lal Gameti is considered to be the camp of former Chief Minister Raje. Pratap Lal is survived by his wife Pratapi Bai, 4 daughters and 1 son. The MLA’s 3 daughters are married.
