In Pratapgarh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Dheeraj Ojha sat on a dharna at the DM residence on Wednesday. The DM present there tried to explain a lot.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Dheeraj Ojha sat on a dharna at DM’s residence in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The MLA had alleged that a person willing to contest the panchayat elections was not being named in the voter list for five months. Apart from this, there are many more complaints, on which the administration is not taking any action, so he is sitting on a dharna.
The BJP MLA was sitting on a dharna with his supporters that DM and SP came back from the election tour on the spot. After this, the MLAs came out of the office and suddenly started lying in the ground to protest. During this, the MLA accused the SP of threatening to shoot him. The MLA from DM’s office came out in torn clothes.
DM did not take action against anarchists
The MLA alleges that there are some people against whom there are many cases including the Gunda Act, yet the DM did not take any action regarding the election. Even after informing them about such people, the administration did not take cognizance. With this, the names of many people who are eligible voters could not appear in the voter list. He gave the DM a list of such characters, but the administration did not step on it. DMs are working against the intention of the government.
A sharp clash between MLA and SP
The political and administrative corridor was disturbed as the MLA sat on a dharna. ADM Shatrohan Vaishya, on behalf of the first DM, tried to convince MLA Dheeraj, but he did not agree, adding that he would sit on the dharna until his demands were expedited. At the same time, SP Akash Tomar came with DM.
When he termed the MLA’s protest as unfair, a heated argument ensued between the MLA and the SP. During this, both of them also got involved. The MLA alleged that the SP attacked him. Insulted the elected public representative, threatened. They are not going to tolerate this. However, the DM was busy persuading them till 3:30 pm in the day. Outside the DM’s residence, there were crowds of MLA’s supporters and others.
