How did this trend start?
In the Golden Era of Hindi cinema, the industry got many faces like Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, but one of them was an actor whose style was different, this Raj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor started the trend of signature poses in the 1950s and 60s. Raj Kapoor used to imitate Charlie Chaplin, but this style was new to the Indian audience. Raj Kapoor’s style became so famous that it became his signature pose.
After Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand became famous for his unique style. Dev used to hide his face in style with his loose hands. Even after years, if someone imitates God, then this pose is definitely used. Few people know that Dev had copied this style from Hollywood star Grackery Pack and Cary Grant.
The style of Rajesh Khanna, who made a different identity with the name Kaka Babu, also became very famous. The industry’s first superstar Rajesh used to raise both his hands and pan the body.
