Kangana Ranaut had approached the Bombay High Court after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation carried out a demolition drive at her Pali Hill office on September 9. The High Court resumed the hearing today, wherein the Bench stated, โ€œIn our first order itself we have said if they acted with such swiftness Bombay would be a better place.โ€ Citing โ€˜illegal constructionโ€™ in their notice to the actress, the BMC had razed down parts of her property and the actress is now claiming damages for the same.

Due to the demolition, Kangana reportedly faced damage of valuables for which she is seeking compensation. In her plea, Kangana had urged the court to declare the BMC’s action as โ€˜illegalโ€™ and that the civic body should pay her Rs 2 crore in damages.

In a series of posts on social media, Kangana Ranaut had hit out at the civic bodyโ€™s actions. Kangana had arrived in Mumbai on the day of the demolition drive and had shared on Twitter, โ€œAs I am all set for Mumbai Darshan on my way to the airport,Maha government and their goons are at my property all set to illegally break it down, go on! I promised to give blood for Maharashtra pride this is nothing take everything but my spirit will only rise higher and higher.โ€
