The boy has now been selected for the post of Municipal Executive Officer and will now serve in the Bihar government as an administrative officer.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has declared the BPSC 67th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) result 2023. Candidates who appeared in the interview round of the Bihar Administrative Service can check their results from the official website at bpsc.bih.nic.in. A total of 2,104 candidates were shortlisted for the interview round out of which 2,090 candidates appeared.
The BPSC aspirants work tirelessly to secure their dream job through this highly competitive examination. One of the inspiring stories this year is of Shiv Shakti who defied all odds and cleared the exam and has now been selected for the post of Municipal Executive Officer.
Shiv Shakti, who is a resident of Manua village of Hajipur block of Vaishali district, has secured 205th rank in the BPSC exam. He will be now serving in the Bihar government as an administrative officer. The achievement has brought joy to his family.
Shiv’s father Ramashankar Raj passed away at the age of 32 when was only 3. His father was survived by his wife and five children. Shiv has three elder sisters and one younger brother. For survival, his mother Kalindi Devi used rear buffaloes and also worked in the fields herself. Despite the struggles, his mother knew the importance of education and made sure her children got a better education. Shiv completed his schooling till 10th from a local government school.
Due to financial constraints in the family, Shiv couldn’t complete his further studies and had to migrate to Delhi to earn extra money.
Speaking with News18, Shiv shared that he used to earn Rs 3,300 per month at a factory in Delhi. After he returned home, people around him encouraged him to complete his school. Shiv Shakti completed his Class 12 education and graduated from IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) in Delhi and started preparing for UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).
He even bagged a private job and continued his preparation for the exam. He reportedly UPSC and appeared for the interview round. But destiny had better plans and he got into BPSC.
According to the Bihar Public Service Commission, a total of 799 candidates have been selected against 802 vacancies.
