In Ghazipur, the Bharatiya Janata Party raised the flag of victory in the results declared today in the counting of votes for the by-elections for one vacant post each of councilor of Nagar Palika Ghazipur, Nagar Palika Zamania and Nagar Palika Muhammadabad.

Pinky Singh won from ward number 11 Raiganj of Ghazipur Municipality by defeating her opponent by 234 votes. This seat was vacant due to the death of today’s winner Pinky Singh’s husband Abhay Kumar Singh.

BJP’s Vikas Jaiswal from ward number 20, Pathkhaulia of Zamania Nagar Palika has won the election by 64 votes and waved the lotus in the ward. BJP candidate Ratna Devi from ward number 01 Dakshin Mahal of Muhammadabad Nagar Palika defeated her opponent candidate by 250 votes.

Expressing happiness over the victory of BJP on all three seats of Ward Councillor, District President Sunil Kumar Singh congratulated the winning candidates and expressed good wishes. He said that the development process going on under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath will get further strength.

The winning candidate from Ghazipur Raiganj, Pinky Singh, under the leadership of District President Sunil Kumar Singh, garlanded the statue of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.

On this occasion Vinod Agarwal, Rasbihari Rai, Kunwar Bahadur Singh, Ramanuj Rai, Abhinav Singh Chotu, Ajay Kushwaha, Sunil Gupta, Hemant Tripathi, Garvjit Singh, Rameshwar Tiwari, Vishal Chaurasia, Nitin Agrahari, Meenu Maurya, Sadhna Rai, Somesh Mohan Rai, Dharmesh Rai, Avinash Singh, Nikhil Rai, Rajesh Gupta and all the workers were present.

This post was vacant due to the death of Chandan Singh, a councillor of ward one of Muhammadabad Nagar Palika Parishad. Voting was held on Monday, July 8 for the seat reserved for women. Ratna Devi from BJP and independent Vidyavati Devi were the candidates in the election.

Counting of votes began at 8 am on Wednesday. Counting of votes was done on a table in the Tehsil Auditorium under the supervision of Mohammadabad Election Officer Block Education Officer Dinanath Sahni. After two rounds of counting, 766 votes out of the total 796 votes were declared valid. Three NOTA and 27 were found invalid.

When the election results were declared, BJP candidate Ratna Devi got 508 votes and independent candidate Vidyavati Devi got 258 votes. Election officer Dinanath Sahni declared Ratna Devi victorious by 250 votes and awarded her the certificate.
