Under the National Child Health Program (Chirayu) scheme, a screening camp was organized in the district hospital for screening of children suffering from pediatric heart disease. In the camp, a team of expert doctors from Raipur conducted echocardiography test of 154 children. Also gave advice to the family as per need.
Surguja MP Chintamani Maharaj, Collector Remijius Ekka Ekka and District Panchayat CEO Rena Jamil visited the camp and took information about the investigation process. MP Chintamani Maharaj said that due to the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and the efforts of the Health Minister, better health facilities are being provided to the last row people of the state. Earlier, people had to go to Raipur for heart disease check-up, but now on the initiative of Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, the check-up facility is being provided in the district hospital itself. While assuring the family members, he said that those children who are suffering from heart disease will be sent to Raipur for better and free treatment under Chirayu Yojana. The Collector said that this camp is the first phase of the event. It will be implemented in detail in the coming time. Appealing to the parents, he said that the children whose report has come positive should not worry. The health department is ensuring their proper treatment. During this, the Social Welfare Department distributed tricycles and sticks to the disabled. Also administered oath of cleanliness to the people under Swachhta Pakhwada. In the end, the specialist doctors were honored by presenting them with shawls and mementos.
