The nomination of two candidates involved in the city council election has been canceled by the returning officer on the charge of concealing it. In this regard, Returning Officer cum SDO Rohit Kumar said that the candidate of ward number 8, Hadisha Khatoon, had accused the candidate of the ward, Rupam Devi, of hiding the fact of being the third child in the nomination and by Sonelal Chaudhary, the candidate of ward number 12. The candidate of the ward, Ranjit Kumar, was accused of filing nomination papers by hiding the proof of having a third child. It was alleged by both the candidates of having more than two children after 4 April 2008. After fixing the date on Wednesday for hearing the said charge, both the parties were instructed to present their side with evidence. The parties to both the cases appeared on the stipulated date. During the hearing, out of the two cases, where Rupam Devi had two children before 4 April 2008 and one child later, Ranjeet Kumar also came to the notice of having three children before 4 April 2008 and one child after Is. Evidence was also presented by the concerned objector. He said that after April 4, 2008, the nomination forms of both the candidates for having more than 2 children have been canceled while the nominations of the rest of the candidates have been found valid.
