Two coaches of a Mathura-bound goods train derailed near Chaubepur railway station at around 4:30 am on Tuesday. The accident happened due to the cattle hitting the engine. Due to the incident, several trains on the Kanpur-Farrukhabad route were disrupted. About a dozen trains were stopped at nearby stations.
Accident happened on Route No. 1
A major accident was avoided in the morning on Kanpur-Farrukhabad rail route. Two coaches of the Mathura-bound railway goods train derailed near Chaubepur station. On the information about the derailment of the train coaches on the route, other officers and employees including the section engineer reached the spot and the trains were stopped by taking kasan on both sides. After that the repair work started. The accident happened on Route No. Due to this, the railway line got damaged for a long distance. There the repair work was going on.
Trains were stopped at nearby stations
Due to the accident, a dozen trains on Kanpur-Farrukhabad route were stopped at railway stations around Chaubepur. One train was parked near Barrarajpur station and other trains near Mandhana station. Apart from this, Kasganj Passenger at Mandhana station and Chhapra Express stood at Chaubepur station for several hours.
Rail route deteriorated up to five hundred meters
The incident happened due to the cattle getting stuck in the engine of the goods train. Due to the derailment of two coaches of the goods train, the brake shoes of some coaches broke and fell down. In the attempt of the driver to take the goods train safely, the rail route up to five hundred meters got damaged, which has been started to repair it. Till now the repair work was going on there.
