The price of diesel has reached Rs 73. Its direct effect is on the common man’s pocket. If the expenditure on freight has increased, then the cost of irrigation of the fields is coming up. In such a situation, the son of a farmer living in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh has made a jugaad to run the pumping set. He made a unique experiment of running pumping sets from LPG cylinders which proved to be effective. Now a cylinder is irrigated continuously for 38 hours, then the cost is also very low.

Question raised in mind suggested a solution to the problem

Makhan Yadav, a resident of Mazra Lakhanjar, Kurrat village of development block, Madavara, is a farmer. He has taught his son Gopal Yadav till graduation. Gopal also helps his father in farming. For the past several days, he was troubled by rising diesel prices. He thought of doing something new. Gopal Yadav thought that when petrol, diesel and CNG can run engines, why not with LPG? So he picked up the LPG cylinder from home one day and took it to the farm. Where he drove a pumping set with LPG after an hour of hard work.

The engine does not emit smoke

Gopal Yadav said that in order to run the pumping set, initially you have to start with diesel. After that, the gas cylinder regulator hose in the ear cleanser is fixed inside it. Then the engine runs continuously. He told that with the help of the regulator the speed can be controlled by lowering the gas supply and more. Not only this, the engine does not emit smoke either.

Now irrigation costs less than half

Farmer Putra Gopal said that the engine runs continuously for 14 hours with 14.20 kg LPG. He told that the price of LPG cylinder is 750 rupees. It contains 14 kg of 200 grams of gas. Running a pumping set with LPG costs Rs.17.50 per hour. While diesel costs Rs 80 per hour on running the engine.
