Chinese Man Holds Grand Reception With Wife After 14 Years Of Marriage – News18

Weddings hold a special place in every couple’s life, as they are one of life’s most treasured milestones. In order to make the celebration memorable, couples employ various creative means to make it a grand and lavish ceremony for everyone to remember. However, due to financial difficulties or other reasons, a couple may not always fulfill their dreams and host an extravagant wedding.

Similar was the case with a man from China who was not financially stable enough to have a lavish ceremony during the time of their wedding. But after 14 years of marriage, when the 42-year-old man started doing better, he decided to surprise her partner and hold a grand wedding reception with his wife. They had the grand ceremony at their hometown in China’s Changsha on October 17. Their relatives and friends were seen cheering joyfully for the couple, and the couple also commemorated their love with some beating drums to add a celebratory vibe.

According to the reports by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), he promised his wife that one day he would hold a grand reception for her and he did so over a decade later to celebrate their enduring bond of love.

While talking to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), the husband, surnamed Wen, stated that this has been his biggest regret in the past decade. In the past, they had nothing, and his wife has not abandoned him over all these years, and she’s always been with him through various difficulties together. Whatever happened, her wife always supported him and stood by him.

Elaborating further, the husband said every time he thinks of what her wife did for him; he tells himself that he should repay her with a proper wedding. He often said to his wife that when he became rich enough, he would give her a perfect wedding and invite all their relatives and friends to witness their happiness.

“I think at whatever your age, fine ceremonies are necessary in our lives,” concluded Wen.

As per SCMP, this happy news of the man’s gesture towards his wife soon reached a Chinese social networking site, Weibo. The couple’s nuptials prompted an avalanche of positive online comments on the platform.

A user commented, “I envy them. This is probably what love looks like.”

Another added, “This is the real significance of a wedding. It will give them good memories many years later.”

“He has never forgotten his word after such a long time. I send my sincere good wishes to them!” a user wrote.

Now, the 42-year-old man and his wife own a company in central China’s Hunan province in Changsha and are doing much better than before.
