Hearing on the non-bailable warrant issued against Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari was held in the Supreme Court today. Ritu Maheshwari has got a big setback from the Supreme Court. Supreme Court refuses to grant interim relief to Ritu Maheshwari. The Supreme Court said, if you do not follow the order of the HC, then you will have to face the consequences.
The Allahabad High Court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Ritu Maheshwari for not appearing in the contempt case. Ritu Maheshwari’s lawyer in the Supreme Court, while hearing the matter at the earliest, had demanded interim relief. The hearing took place today.
CJI made strong remarks
Hearing the matter in the Supreme Court, CJI NV Ramana said, you are an IAS officer, you know the rules. Every other day some officers come to the court for directions even in serious cases. Expressing displeasure, CJI NV Ramana said, you people violate the orders of the Allahabad High Court. It has become a routine. Every day an officer comes to the court. What is this? Why don’t you respect the order of the court.

Responsibility assigned to Chief Judicial Magistrate
Let us tell you, the CEO of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, was forced to not appear before the Allahabad High Court on May 4. The Allahabad High Court had ordered Ritu Maheshwari to be produced in the court on 13 May by taking police custody. Not only this, the High Court Bench had entrusted the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar to get the order complied with.
The court had made a stern remark that, ‘When the hearing time is at 10 am and you are catching the flight at 10.30 am. This court does not run according to your convenience. The High Court said, this is sufficient ground to issue a non-bailable warrant against Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida Authority.
Order to appear in police custody on May 13
The court had said, non-bailable warrant is issued against Ritu Maheshwari. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar will get this done. It was ordered that a copy of this order should be made available to the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar within the next 48 hours. The next hearing of the case will be on May 13. On that day the CEO of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, should be produced before the court in police custody.

In Sector-82 of Noida, the authority had acquired land on 30 November 1989 and 16 June 1990 under the urgency close. Which was challenged by the owner of the land, Manorama Kuchhal. The Allahabad High Court had given its verdict on 19 December 2016 on Manorama’s petitions filed in the year 1990. The High Court had quashed the land acquisition made under the urgency clause. Manorama Kuchal was ordered to pay compensation at double the circle rate under the new Land Acquisition Act. Apart from this, estimating the cost of 5-5 lakh rupees on each petition, an order was given to the authority to compensate.
CEO did not appear in May 4 hearing
Ritu Maheshwari was ordered by the High Court to remain present in the hearing on May 4. The court, while hearing on April 28, had directed that the matter would be heard on May 4. On that day Ritu Maheshwari herself will be present in the court. In fact, Ritu Maheshwari did not appear in the court even on the day of the hearing on April 28. Now when the hearing of this case started on 4th, Noida Authority’s lawyer Ravindra Srivastava was present in the court.
