Three aspirants preparing for UPSC died after drowning in the basement of RAU’ IAS STUDY CIRCLE coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Along with this, a screenshot is becoming increasingly viral on social media. It is written in it that a complaint was made to the MCD in this regard on June 26, a month before the accident, but no hearing took place on it.

In a viral post, a person named Kishore Singh Kushwaha has complained about the commercial use of the basement of RAU’ IAS STUDY CIRCLE coaching. But Delhi MCD did not take any action on this complaint. About a month later, on the night of July 27, 3 children died due to water logging in the basement of this coaching.

A few days ago, a boy preparing for UPSC died due to electric shock. Social media users are saying, ‘That was also a murder, this is also a murder.’

Despite two reminders, MCD did not take any action
Apart from the complaint lodged on June 26, two reminders were also sent to Delhi MCD. The first reminder sent on July 15 read, “Sir, this is a very important and urgent issue, take strict action on this.”

Whereas in the second reminder sent on July 22, it was said, “Sir, please take action, this is an issue of safety of students.”

Shreya, Tanya and Navin lost their lives

Shreya Yadav was a resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. She was 25 years old. Shreya was the eldest of three siblings. She came to Delhi with the dream of clearing UPSC CSE, one of the toughest examinations in the country, and took admission in RAU’S IAS STUDY CIRCLE Coaching Institute in April 2024.

Shreya completed her B.Sc. degree in Agriculture from Kamala Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur. Her father runs a dairy shop in Ambedkar Nagar and her brother Abhishek Yadav is a student of Mass Communication.

Shreya’s father Rajendra Yadav claimed that he had earlier informed the family about the waterlogging in the basement after the rains. However, the institute did nothing to solve the problem. The father also alleged that the institute did not inform him about the incident. He came to know about it through the media. At the same time, Shreya’s uncle Dharmendra Yadav alleged that he was not allowed to see her body in the hospital.

Family members say that Shreya was good at studies since childhood. She cleared her high school and intermediate in first class.

Tanya Soni
Tanya Soni was a resident of Secunderabad in Telangana. She was also 25 years old. Tanya was originally from Aurangabad in Bihar. She was a student of Delhi University.

According to PTI report, she was living in the women’s hostel of DU’s Maharaja Agrasen College and had joined the coaching institute one and a half months ago.

Tanya’s father Vijay Kumar works in a mining company in Telangana. She has two younger siblings. After the post-mortem, her body was taken to Aurangabad for cremation.

Nevin Dalvin
​​​​​​​Nevin Dalvin is a resident of Ernakulam, Kerala. He is 28 years old. Navin was living in Delhi for about eight months. He was doing his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Navin, who lives in Patel Nagar, went to the basement library around 10 am on Saturday. Navin’s family has been living in Ernakulam for the last 10-12 years and they originally hail from Thiruvananthapuram district.
