Demonstrations were held outside the Congress headquarters on Saturday against the campaign being run by the Income Tax Department against the Congress Party. District President Ved Prakash Tripathi said that on the instructions of the All India Congress Committee, demonstrations were also held in Lucknow at all the district headquarters against the continuous malicious efforts being made by the Modi government to kill democracy. A massive protest was organized by senior Congressmen of the district under the leadership of District Congress Committee President Ved Prakash Tripathi. The District President sent a memorandum to the President.
