A strange incident happened in WPL i.e. Women’s Premier League. The negligence of the third umpire was seen in the match between Mumbai Indians and UP Warriors at the Brabourne Stadium on Sunday. Sophie Ecclestone bowled fuller length in the fifth ball of the fourth over of the second innings. Mathews defends and Warriors appeals for LBW. Umpire rejected it and UP took the review. Replays showed that the ball was hitting Haley’s bat, yet it was checked for LBW and Mathews was adjudged out.
Mathews stayed for a long time, then it was found that the replay of a different ball was shown in DRS. The umpire reversed his decision and Mathews was not out. Earlier, she also avoided being run out.
