Coronavirus Vaccine: These are the two things that you must do on the day you get the COVID shot | The Times of India

Just like any other vaccination, the COVID vaccine takes time to develop immunity against the virus. There are two COVID shots taken at an interval of one week or 15 days. But just getting the vaccination does not guarantee your protection against the coronavirus. To increase the efficacy of the virus, you have to do a few things. Here are some things you must and must not do before getting the vaccination.

Sleep on time: If you are one of those who are planning to get the vaccine, you must get adequate sleep at night at least 24-hour before it. Sleep deprivation can lead to variation in immune processes needed to produce antibodies. To maintain the number, getting an adequate amount of sleep is vital.

Exercise: If possible exercise or engage in any kind of physical activity 2-3 days before getting the shot. Exercising helps support your immunity after the vaccine.

Avoid anti-inflammatory medicines: Avoid all kinds of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that are widely used to relieve pain, decrease inflammation, and reduce a high temperature. These medications can hinder your body’s immune response system and will reduce the efficacy of the vaccination.
