The court of Additional Sessions Judge Ashutosh Singh in Sonbhadra heard the case of raping the teacher 7 years ago on the pretext of marriage and blackmailing her by making a video clip. In which the guilty assistant manager Atish Kumar Singh was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh 61 thousand. In default of payment of fine, he shall undergo additional imprisonment of one year.

The guilty parents were sentenced to four years’ imprisonment and a fine of 41-41 thousand rupees. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence. While one of the accused was acquitted. At the same time, half of the fine amount will be given to the victim.

Used to blackmail by making a video clip of rape
According to the prosecution, the teacher, a resident of Robertsganj Kotwali, had given a complaint in the police station on June 17, 2016. In which it was told that she was engaged to Atish Kumar Singh, a resident of Madhupur of Robertsganj Kotwali on 23 April 2015. He raped her after taking her out on the pretext of marriage and made her blackmail by making video clips. Mother Asha Devi and father Dr. Ramkrit also took Rs 15 lakh in dowry. The latter refused to marry.

Police filed an FIR and filed a charge sheet
On this complaint, the police registered an FIR and investigated the matter. On getting sufficient evidence, the investigator filed a charge sheet in the court. While hearing the case, the court, after hearing the arguments of the advocates of both the sides, after perusing the statements of the witnesses and perusal of the records, convicted the accused assistant manager Atish Kumar Singh and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh 61 thousand. Senior advocate B Singh and public prosecutor Vinod Kumar Pathak argued on behalf of the prosecution.
