67 thousand fans were present in the stadium between India and England in the first T20 played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. This is the record for any cricket match played after the lockdown between Corona. The stadium has a capacity of 1.32 spectators.
Prior to the series, the Gujarat Cricket Association had asked for 100% fans entry. The decision was rescinded just before the match. Also 50% of the fans got entry approval. According to association sources, tickets were also sold for around 50%.
Low price tickets were in high demand
An official of the Gujarat Association said that the demand for low-cost tickets was very high. The cost of these tickets was 500 and one thousand rupees. These are the most sold.
Last year itself, the cricket fans got entry into the stadium.
After the lockdown, the first international series between the fans in the stadium was played between Australia and New Zealand Women’s team. This ODI series took place in Brisbane in late September last year. The first match in men’s cricket was played between New Zealand and Australia in late November. Limited fans were given entry in both the matches.

First T20 England won by 8 wickets
England defeated India by 8 wickets in the first match of the 5 T20 series. In the match, the Indian team lost the toss and scored 124 runs, losing 7 wickets. In response, the England team lost the match by losing 2 wickets in 15.3 overs and scored 130 runs. Joffra Archer was voted Player of the Match. This fast bowler took 3 wickets for 23 runs. The next match will be played on Sunday. All the matches of the series will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Only 50% of the viewers entered the field in the series
Only 50% of the viewers will get entry on the field in the T20 series between India and England. Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) announced this on Friday. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing cases of Corona for the last few days. According to the GCA, the government’s SoP will also be followed in all five matches. GCA Vice President Dhanraj Nathwani said that only 50% of tickets will be available online and offline. Also, the entire stadium has been sanitized. Here Kovid Guidelines will be followed well.
