The area affected by Rapti erosion includes dozens of villages in Sadar, Tulsipur, and Utraula tehsils. Due to this erosion, the crops grown in the fields are getting absorbed into the river, which has become a matter of concern for the farmers. The affected areas include villages like Mankot, Ganga Baksh Bhagad, Chowk Kala, and Chowk Khurd. Local residents of Sahiba Nagar have warned that if the water level of Rapti continues to rise like this, their villages will be flooded, due to which they will have to face many problems.

District administration issued advisory In view of the flood situation, the district administration has put revenue, police, medical, and flood section teams on alert mode to maintain vigilance. Constant monitoring of the embankments is being done, and the District Magistrate has given necessary directions to all departmental officers for relief and rescue operations.

15 PAC personnel, 3 constables, and 2 motor boats have been deployed in the district for flood relief work. Apart from this, 32 medical teams, 32 flood posts, and 19 flood shelters have also been created. All flood posts are active and the district level flood disaster control room is operating 24 hours.
